Duke will get a chance to prove its worth

  •  Sophomore point guard Tre Jones led the way for the Duke Basketball team in the ACC preseason voting while the freshmen class was recognized.
Tre Jones opting to return https://www.dukebluedevilsjersey.com/kyle-singler-jersey-c-29.html   to Duke for his sophomore year instead of entering the 2019 NBA Draft was huge for the Blue Devils in more ways than one.

As a freshman, the Apple Valley, Minnesota native averaged 9.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. Jones was also named to the All ACC freshman team.

Entering 2019 20, Jones was bound to get preseason recognition and the sophomore was named to the Preseason All ACC First Team as the Duke Blue Devils were predicted to finish at the top of the conference.

Jones was a near unanimous selection for the Preseason First Team as he received 89 votes as he joins Louisville’s Jordan Nwora https://www.dukebluedevilsjersey.com/brandon-ingram-jersey-c-30.html, North Carolina’s Cole Anthony Justise Winslow Jersey, Notre Dame’s John Mooney, and Virginia’s Mamadi Diakite.

Nwora was the only play who received more votes the Jones with 95.

Tre Jones finished in third place in the ACC Preseason Player of the Year voting with 19 votes as Nwora finished in first and Anthony came in second.
Cole Anthony was also selected as the ACC Preseason Freshman of the Year in a landslide over the four Duke freshmen and Casey Morsell of Virginia.

The only other freshman that was selected to either the Preseason First Team or Second Team was Duke’s Vernon Carey Jr. who was placed on the Preseason Second Team.

Carey received 19 votes and also received eight votes, the second most in the Preseason Freshman of the Year voting.

Vernon Carey’s fellow freshman, Wendell Moore https://www.dukebluedevilsjersey.com/tyus-jones-jersey-c-27.html, Matthew Hurt, and Cassius Stanley also received votes in the Preseason Freshman of the Year voting.

Moore received five votes while Hurt and Stanley each received three.

Duke will get a chance to prove its worth on the court on November 5 in New York City as the Blue Devils will play the Kansas Jayhawks in the State Farm Champions Classic from Madison Square Garden.
